Sweet Drops

Sweet Drops is a distinctive packaging design with a unique opening mechanism which features two cylinders that can rotate on each other smoothly without friction or wobbling. The package can be opened fast or slow, the sweets would not fall out of the box, because of the two walls between the sides. The box has two pieces of cartonboard that fold together like a gripper, creating a secure and reusable container.
While brainstorming for the contest my first thaught was the nature, with cherry blossoms and seeds. Their form and opening inspired this packaging. The raindrop or seed-like box can easily be transformed into a basket, perfect for storing sweets, candies, or other small items.
Furthermore, the packaging can be repurposed as a flower by combining five boxes for better storing. It can be arranged in many ways for other storing options or it can be recycled, because the printing is made by soypaint which is renewable and non-toxic.
